Arlington Festivals & Shows

Arlington Festivals & ShowsWhile Arlington may not be one of the nation's largest cities in size, it more than makes up for it when it comes to offering annual events that all go to foster a sense of community and caring. Various organizations and holidays are behind these yearly celebrations and events that, while not situated in the biggest of cities, come from an unquestionably Texas-sized heart.

Cardboard Boat Regatta
One of Arlington's most popular annual events is the Cardboard Boat Regatta. Yes, that's real cardboard that all of these vessels are made out of, and the crowds show up in droves to see who will sink and who will stay afloat this time around. It is sponsored by River Legacy Parks, and teams explore the characteristics of cardboard and the challenge it presents when constructed as a boat meant to stay afloat. And, thankfully, since not all cardboard boats float, there are plenty of rescue teams on hand for the event to safely return contestants back to shore.
